All my production time for the last several months has been devoted to finishing a new album with sound designer and world-traveling raconteur Michael Ver Steegt. The sounds coming from an electric eel are quite similar to some sounds I recorded of lake sturgeon spawning, that I claimed were most likely electric.

How about that?

Cosmography - May 21, 2013

Chris Bocast and Dale Kaminski are building off the momentum of their well-received Earth Day performance, booking new venues and themes for their interactive music/video show, Cosmography. Cosmography performances bring awareness and inspiration to the audience concerning our earth and its environment. We have incorporated live music, interactive video, audio mash-ups, dance, and natural soundscapes in our shows, all as a means to touch upon our common humanity in order to build community. We hope to act as a catalyst around which people can build bonds to resist the social pathologies that threaten our existence.

New Release! - November 14, 2012

A new audiobook for the Wisconsin Historical Society Press is coming out soon! I snapped a couple quick pics of my courtesy copies which are in the photo gallery.

I performed and recorded quite a bit of incidental music for this work, including many traditional American songs from the 19th century. I was joined by Michael Bell on mandolin and Chris Wagoner on violin.

In Burlington, Vermont - June 9, 2012

I took a break from production duties to do some work in front of the camera. Lending some audio expertise to a show to be aired on the National Geographic Channel in January. Nice to get on the road for a little bit!

In other news "People of the Sturgeon" has won the National Indie Award for Excellence in the Audiobook category. I will begin recording another work for the Wisconsin Historical Society Press when I return from the television shoot.

Good start for the summer!
